power gives you leverage to Exploit, Shun Noise, Control the narrative, Extra Perks like Money; traditionally I feel to be powerful is to lead a mass movement make masses agree to you that means you need to have certain type of traits not necessarily intelligence or charisma but the ability to make “visible” sacrifices to ignite the fire of rebellion at scale.
But today (because of individualism; not saying good or bad) there is no common denominator of suffering; when you are unique in your own ways, it is harder to relate the pain because your circumstances don’t overlap with others, you are either better off from them or might be too worse in your journey, so you don’t relate.
But I do feel entire system needs to be shaken off once in a while to make everyone in the hierarchy realise they are not immune to change or suffering, COVID was a good class-agnostic suffering; but we shouldn’t be needing a natural virus to tell us that we are all the same; maybe natural disasters are way of nature to overrule the class (or existing) system or maybe that is what different seasons are for; nature’s way of telling us it is time you reset the hierarchy so that everyone has a chance; however hard people tell you that it is them adapting it is them who are trying to keep their power it is not adaptation it is power struggle disguised as exploitation super sad.
That’s why I like the concept of Death so inevitable and such a cool invariant that you can’t escape it, it would be super nice if we can complement it with a disease which is, instead of insomnia as you age you start telling truth or whatever exploitation you have done in your life to avoid that people will cage themselves (but that will drive them crazy) so they don’t have an option left.
